Woodstock mud claimed a pair of Peter Chapman's sandals. He covered the festival for Gannett and was at Skidmore during visits by Kinnell, Stafford and Cheever. Gump-like, blue-eyed, a little bit touchy, Chapman toured Broadway shows including a respectable version of Sunday in the Park With George while at Mainstage Management. He sailed his boat Trace many times from Maine to Florida and has rolled up more than 40,000 miles on his two road bikes. He tends bar at private events in Washington, D.C. and lives on his motorsailer, the Sea Note, near Annapolis, Maryland. When not otherwise engaged, Chapman is the Ann Arundel County liaison for WordHouse and hosts the WordHouse reading series at Minás Gallery.
